Portrait Poem
I am Cierra
The only child of Wendy & James
Who loves family, friends, & shopping
Who fears & welcomes change at the same time
Who sees herself as a wife, mother, & teacher
Who needs support & patience
Who feels like teachers are invaluable
Who strives to encourage & empower others
Who would like others to see past the surface

I feel the exact same way about change. I fear it but it’s always a good thing and helps us grow!

I like how you mentioned in your portrait poem how you would like people to see past the surface. I think that is really important and is something that should be stressed more often!

I like both your poems. You picked some good adjectives for your acrostic poem and brought out some really good points in your portrait poem. I agree that teachers are invaluable and I think that it’s especially important that teachers are able to see past the surface.

I really liked both of your poems cierra! I think the same way about change. It is a scary thing, but many times it’s exactly what needs to happen.

I really like you poems. They are very detailed and well thought out. I especially liked where you said, “you would like to see others see past the surface”. I completely agree, this is a very important characteristic that everyone should embody.

I couldn’t agree more that teachers are invaluable, now if only the rest of our society would wake up and take note of that.

Thanks for sharing Cierra. I think change is a necessary way of life no matter how difficult it may feel.
